Initially interested in the sciences, Melanie transitioned to a business-focused career, earning her Bachelor of Commerce from Memorial University. She later enhanced her skill set with a Masters Certificate in Project Management from York University. High school courses in advanced math, biology, and physics provided her with a solid foundation for her university studies and eventual career path. Melanie’s interest in contracts and procurement developed early in her professional journey, and over ten years later, she has built a rewarding career grounded in strategic negotiation and supplier management.

Melanie works Monday to Friday in an office setting with regular hours, giving her stability in her role. She enjoys the social aspects of her job, meeting and negotiating with people from various companies and backgrounds. A significant portion of her work involves managing contracts with suppliers, overseeing bid processes, and finalizing contract terms. She values the variety in her work, noting, “There are processes and procedures you must follow, but every contract you administer is different.”
